Dr. Dhir is a highly trained plastic and cosmetic surgeon with more than 30 years of experience in this field. He attended Govt. Medical College, Patiala as an undergraduate and received his medical degree from punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab, India.After his medical degree from Government medical college Patiala, he went on to achieve M.S. in ENT and M.Ch (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery). He did his postgraduate training in plastic and reconstructive surgery in an accredited training post at Rajendra Hospital, which is a multispecialty 1000 bedded hospital affiliated to the Government Medical College in Patiala, Punjab, India. Following that, he worked at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai (one of the largest tertiary cancer hospital in India), as a clinical fellow doing cancer reconstructive surgery. He was sponsored by the British Association of Plastic Surgeons to further his training in UK and had to opportunity to work in two big plastic surgery units there.
On his return to India, he started his own practice in New Delhi and joined Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, at its inception in 1995, in the capacity of senior consultant plastic and cosmetic surgeon. Indraprastha Apollo Hospital is the first corporate hospital in India to be accredited by Joint Commission International. Image Medical Centre is his own office at Nehru Place, New Delhi.
Dr. Dhir has a special interest in cosmetic / aesthetic surgery of face and body.Due to his training in ENT & Plastic surgery he has special interest in Rhinoplasty or nose job., He is one of the pioneers in the world for fat grafting, ADRC (adipose-derived regenerative cell) enriched fat grafting for facial rejuvenation, scars and breast augmentation. He travels extensively both in India and abroad to keep uptodate with new developments in this field with a commitment for constant self improvement. He is the first plastic surgeon in India, to be accepted as an international active member of American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He practices with honesty and integrity and makes patient experience and satisfaction his first priority. He works in partnership with the patient to ensure the patient understands the expectations from the surgery.
His other areas of interest are management of burn injuries, Maxillo-facial injuries & pressure sores.
His interest in sexual medicine led him to clear the examination for fellowship of the European Committee of Sexual Medicine. He specializes in the medical & surgical management of erectile dysfunction by penile implants and male and female genital aesthetic surgery.
His practice philosophy is to enable his patients to achieve the full benefit of cosmetic & plastic surgery, by combining his surgical talent with the patient’s motivation and desire for self-enhancement. He is presently the President of the Indian Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.He is the Convener of the Healthcare division of the American Society of Quality in India.
